Sewing the Block

Carefully position the half-square triangle patches on opposite corners of the large square and continue as you did for regular Flying Geese (Five-Square Geese, page 44). The fabric of the two half-square triangle patches that meets in the middle of the large square will become the triangles along the long side of the Fancy Geese block. The fabric placed at the corners of the large square will become the short sides of the Fancy Geese.

Fancy Geese piecing follows the same sequence as regular Flying Geese, but it uses half-square triangle patches for small squares.
